TEAM PHOENIX MARTIAL ART CLASSES

At Team Phoenix we run a wide variety of classes to suit all you goals. Wether its standup martial arts, grappling, self defence, weapons, fitness or you want a fantastic hobby in which to meet new people and have fun we have the class for you.

Muay Thai

Monday and Wednesday 6pm till 7:20pm, 

Beginners Muay Thai Tuesday 6pm - 7:20pm

 

 

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and has a rich history. The Roots of Muay Thai date back to the battlefields of Siam where the Thais used the ancient arts of Muay Boran and Krabi Krabong to defend their homeland. Today the ring sport of Muay Thai uses punches, kicks, knees, elbows and clinch work and is practiced all over the world.

What to expect: Muay Thai Classes at Team Phoenix consists of technical training to give you the correct technique, as well as pad work, light sparring, stamina and conditioning training.

Kali Sikaran International  Self Defence with Confidence

Tuesday and Thursday 7:30pm - 8:50pm

 Beginners KSI Wednesday 7:30pm - 8:50pm

 

Kali Sikaran International is a Filipino style of Self Defence that offers a comprehensive, graduated phase program that will give you the tools and confidence to defend yourself with and without weapons against armed and unarmed opponents. 

 

At Team Phoenix your training will not only address the physical aspects of self defence, but also the psychological, emotional and behavioural areas to give you the confidence to manage threatening situations and defend yourself if you have to.

 

What to expect: In this class you will be learning empty hand and weapon skills.

You will learn the psychology of confrontation and situation management.

Team Phoenix Aerial 

Friday 6:00pm - 7:30pm

 

Aerial Acrobatics is traditionally a circus art, a display of strength, agility, flexibility and balance. Many of the disciplines were born of military necessity from training Chinese soldiers (Chinese pole) to French sailors conditioning at sea (corde lisse – aka aerial rope)

 

Phoenix Aerial runs regular classes from beginners to advanced and offers training time and kit to local aerialists including; Trapeze, Silks, Hoop and rope. We also organise classes and workshops with visiting artists.

Aerial conditioning classes are run to improve core strength, stability and overall strength for aerial. The classes are open to all people who want to improve their strength and core power and the benefits of this kind of training have been felt by several of Team Phoenix’s fighters in competition.

 Grappling is an Incredibly fun and addictive class where you can challenge yourself to increase your coordination, conditioning, flexability

and mental sharpness.

If you want to gain an insight into the world of Grapping and Ground fighting in an environment that isn't intimidating, Then Team Phoenix Beginners Grappling is the class for you!

 

What to expect: In Beginners Grappling we focus on giving you the fundamentals of Clinch, Takedowns, Ground positioning, Submissions, and Escapes. Classes include warm ups, technical training, conditioning and grappling practice.

 

Phoenix Kids

Tuesday and Thursday 5:00pm - 6:00pm

Saturday 11:00am- 1:00pm

Our aim

 

Is to produce the best from your child!

Our classes aim to build on the Child's confidence

 

The beginner's class is the first experience your child will have with martial arts.

 

The class focuses on teaching the basics of Ju-Jitsu and self defence and also teach children about themselves and their capabilities.

 

All instructors are CRB checked and have undergone child protection training and first aid training.  All qualifications on public display.

 

Parents are welcome at any class and staff will be happy to discuss any part of the training, organisation or practises of the club.

Conditioning/Sparring

Monday and Wednesday 5:15pm - 6:00pm

Thursday 6:00pm - 7:20pm

Saturday 1:00pm - 3:00pm

Martial Fitness:

Strength and conditioning, circuits, kettle bells and body weigh excercises will help you tone up and get fit!

Monday 5:15pm - 6:00pm, Saturday 2:00pm - 3:00pm

 

Sparring class:

Gives you a chance to try your technique in a safe sparring format. includes sparring in all areas, sparring games and excercise.

Wednesday 5:15pm-6:00pm

 

Grizzly Bear Class:

Pad work, circuits and condtiionining work make this a grrrreat work out!

Thursday 6:00pm - 7:20pm

 

Aerial Conditioning:

Fantastic workout for everything especially core strength using Phoenix Areials training equipment and methods

Friday 6:00pm - 7:30pm

All of our istructors are avalible for one to one training. If you want to get that extra bit of depth to your training or want to be more flexible with your training times our coaches are avalible to teach private and semi private classes in a wide variety of martial arts to suit your needs.
